Custom Framing Services

Museum grade, hand crafted frames built in our Long Island City studio. We design, mill, join, and finish every piece in house using archival materials and fully reversible methods.

Custom Wood Frames

Solid hardwoods such as maple, ash, cherry, oak, walnut, and tiger maple are milled in house with care and precision. We also work with select specialty and exotic woods including white oak, mahogany, sapele, wenge, and rosewood, chosen for their distinctive grain, tone, and stability. Each profile is designed and finished to enhance the artwork, with seamless joinery using spline, dovetail, or Hoffmann systems for lasting strength.

  • Natural oil, wax, lacquer, or painted finishes
  • Custom stains, whitewash, or pigmented tones
  • Rounded, ripple, or sculpted profiles with custom spacers or liners

Archival & Museum Quality

Every layer that touches the artwork is conservation grade and fully reversible. Our priority is preservation without compromising presentation.

  • 100% cotton rag mats and acid free backing
  • UV filtering glazing: Museum Glass or UV acrylic
  • Reversible hinging with Japanese tissue and wheat paste, or BEVA where appropriate
  • Float or shadow mounts for depth and air space

Mounting & Photo Mounting

Mounting is an integral part of presentation and preservation. We offer a full range of archival and display grade mounting options for photographs, works on paper, and mixed media pieces, each chosen to balance visual precision, long term stability, and reversibility when possible.

  • Japanese tissue or BEVA film for delicate paper and fine art prints
  • Archival dry mounting for C prints, RC papers, and contemporary photo editions
  • Silicone, acrylic, or pressure sensitive film mounting for Dibond, aluminum, or acrylic substrates
  • Archival encapsulation and edge mount systems for prints requiring open breathing room
  • Float and flush mounting on museum board, aluminum, Sintra, or Dibond for a clean frameless look

All mounting and lamination are performed in a dust free environment using pH neutral materials, ensuring a flat, secure surface that preserves tonal depth and detail without compromising conservation standards.

Metal & Mixed Material Frames

Precision fabricated aluminum frames in brushed, anodized, or powder coated finishes. Hybrid designs pair metal strength with warm wood reveals or spacers for a refined gallery look.

Oversized & Specialty Projects

Expert handling for large scale or delicate works such as scrolls, textiles, fragile papers, and mixed media. Custom strainers, reinforced backings, and safe transport solutions up to exhibition scale.

Canvas Floaters & Stretching

Hardwood or aluminum floaters built to exact clearances. Professional canvas stretching on kiln dried bars, with aluminum reinforced systems for stability on larger pieces.
